Recessions make millionaires. Will you be one of them?
Most people don't realize that recessions have a way of creating many new millionaires. Many investors simply bury their heads in the sand or go into damage control mode the moment they realize that the economy is declining. Savvy forward thinkers use a recession to their advantage by taking more calculated risks. Sure, all investors calculate their risks during times of economic stability in some way. In many ways a recession can make even the most calculated of risks seem far more "risky" than before.
How does one do this? The concept is relatively simple but having the courage or ability to act on opportunity is entirely different.
Montage Resort Deer Valley Update

For those of you who have been following the progress of the Montage Resort in the Empire Pass area of Deer Valley Resort we have some great new info to report. These guys really know how to put the gas pedal down on a construction project.
We were able to take a hard hat tour of the construction site this week. I can tell you that this property is going to be nothing short of spectacular. Although it is essentially concrete and framing at this point, it is immediately apparent that a tremendous amount of thought went into the orientation and design of the spaces as it relates to the views. You know it's something special when a muddy concrete stucture keeps you saying WOW no matter where you are in the building. The Park City real estate market seems to be regaining some steam slowly. Things are still slow but we have seen pending sales in the past months increase. December's #'s were dismal with only 12 pending sales. The below statistics are a prime example of how the volume seems to be increasing monthly. I think these positive changes will continue slowly and really begin to pick up as we approach the next ski season.
